Distance Learning with HSFPP

Adapting the HSFPP for Online Instruction and Distance Learning

As instructors adjust their lesson plans in response to COVID-19 public health recommendations, we want to share resources for adapting HSFPP to a distance learning experience.

Lesson Pages Designed for Students

Lesson Page

All student handouts and related resources can be found on the HSFPP lesson pages.

  • Access Learner Materials. Students do not need an account to access any student materials including learning packs, guide booklets and slide show handouts.
  • NEW! Editable Student Activities. Lesson packs are now editable word documents, allowing students to complete and submit activities and tasks electronically.
  • Share on Google Classroom. Instructors can use the Google Classroom icon to assign individual lesson pages or share specific resource articles with students.

Budget Wizard: An Interactive Experience

The budget wizard guides teens through the process of creating a spending plan based on their individual values and life circumstances.

  • Add Actuals and Adjust. Once a budget is created it can be revisited to compare expected and actual spending. Students can also revise and update their budget as life happens.

Customizable HSFPP Evaluation Templates

In addition to the HSFPP performance-based assessments (aka "Challenges"), instructors can use NEFE’s Financial Education Evaluation Toolkit (ETK) to create additional evaluations students can complete online.

  • HSFPPP Template. Customizable assessment templates that align with each of the six HSFPP modules.
  • Question Bank. Expanded question bank aligned with national personal finance standards, including Jump$tart’s national standards in K-12 personal finance education.

Download Instructor Materials

Instructors can immediately access all teaching materials online.

  • Online Presentation. Each lesson includes a PowerPoint slide deck that can be used as part of an online class format. Many teleconferencing services allow you to share your screen and materials, and these slides can be shared in this way.
