I knew that I had reached my students when a parent thanked me for teaching her daughter money management skills. Her daughter had been teaching her mother what she learned in class. They had begun budgeting for everything and created a spending plan. Her daughter was very involved and they had begun saving more and spending less. Her mom was a single parent and money was tight. This was a huge transformation as they now had an emergency fund and were not living paycheck to paycheck anymore.
